■ Silicon carbide is a single-phase crystal with no secondary phase crystals or grain boundary phases. The crystals are clean, featuring high purity, fine grain structure, and extremely low porosity. As a result, pressureless sintered silicon carbide heat exchange tubes deliver comprehensive superior performance (high thermal conductivity, high hardness and strength, and universal corrosion resistance).
■ Superior corrosion resistance. Silicon carbide materials are suitable for various highly corrosive operating conditions, offering exceptional resistance to corrosion, oxidation, and impact. They withstand high-concentration sulfuric acid, nitric acid, phosphoric acid, mixed acids, strong alkalis, oxidants, and more. It is the only ceramic material resistant to hydrofluoric acid corrosion.
■ Excellent heat transfer efficiency. The thermal conductivity of silicon carbide is nearly equivalent to that of impregnated graphite commonly used in chemical equipment, and significantly higher than other materials. Its thermal conductivity is 2X that of tantalum alloys, 5X that of stainless steel, 10X that of Hastelloy, and 15X that of glass-lined steel.
■ SSIC pressureless silicon carbide heat exchange tubes offer high hardness and exceptional wear resistance. The smooth surface resists fouling.
■ Low overall cost. The comprehensive cost is superior to graphite heat exchangers, with significant advantages particularly when replacing precious metal materials such as tantalum, zirconium, and Hastelloy.
■ Product structural components: high-purity pressureless sintered silicon carbide tubes, PTFE tube sheets, imported perfluoroelastomer sealing rings, and flow-wetted parts such as heads lined with PTFE or glass-lined steel.
